Our Environmental Commitment

Certified Carbon Neutral Ticketing

Ticketebo cares about the environment and climate change. Our business and every ticketing service we deliver have been Certified Carbon Neutral since 2020. That covers everything we do. The products and services we provide to you as an organiser, and every single ticket we sell to your patrons. We'll reach Net-Zero carbon emissions by 2030, if not sooner.

Our Journey

Ticketebo's journey to Carbon Neutral, and onward to Net-Zero:

The evidence of human impact on the environment is hard to ignore. So, becoming Carbon Neutral was an easy decision, and the whole team backed it.

We didn't want to stop at the business itself. We wanted every service we run to be Carbon Neutral too, including all the tickets we deliver each year.

So we brough in the experts. Carbon Reduction Institute independently audited, measured and verified our footprint. They also helped us map our route to Net-Zero.

Since then we've made changes right across the business and our supply chain. The goal is simple. Fewer emissions, and greener ticketing for organisers and their patrons.

Paperless tickets delivered by SMS are a big part of that. In 2023 alone, they removed the printing of 185,171 tickets.

More than Carbon Neutral

Certification was never the finish line. As a business, we keep looking for ways to have a positive impact on the environment.

We offset twice what we emit

Since 2021, we've intentionally offset more carbon than our business creates. Here's why.

Our event teams see it on site at every event. Plenty of patrons still print their tickets to show on arrival. Our carbon audit confirmed it. Ticket printing is our worst source of carbon across the entire business.

So we do two things. We keep working to discourage ticket printing. And we buy 2 tonnes of carbon credits for every 1 tonne of emissions from the tickets we sell each year.

We'd rather have no footprint at all. Until then, this is how we reduce the impact of selling event tickets.

Trees for Change

Trees for Change is our tree planting program, launched in December 2021. It has funded the planting of 396,720 trees so far.

The idea is straightforward. We encourage patrons to go paperless when they buy their tickets. That saves paper and print waste straight away.

As a thank you for that choice, Ticketebo and our organisers fund the planting of up to 3 trees for every paperless ticket order.

Those trees keep working long after event day. They grow the world's natural carbon stores for years to come, through choices made today.

We're not stopping at Certified Carbon Neutral. Ticketebo will have a Net-Zero carbon footprint by 2030, or sooner.

That covers the whole business. Our products, our services, and every ticket we sell to events.

We know this last step won't be easy. We also think it's our responsibility as an industry leader. Getting there means our business has no carbon footprint, and that we help drive change for the environment.

Where our carbon offsets go

Until we reach Net-Zero, we still have a residual footprint. We offset it to maintain our Certified Carbon Neutral status.

Our credits are purchased through UNFCCC, the United Nations' Carbon Offset Platform. We also use projects approved under the VERRA Verified Carbon Standard.

We started by investing in a leading Indonesian biodiversity project. More recently, we've supported small hydroelectric projects in the Himalayan region of Northern India.

These projects sit in remote, low socio-economic communities. They replace fossil fuel electricity with green energy. They also bring jobs and other economic and social benefits to the people who live there.
